New Poll Reveals More Than 60 Percent of Michigan Voters Believe Michigan Should Elect An Independent Governor 

A new poll from the Detroit Regional Chamber shows that 63% of Michigan voters are open to electing an Independent governor, signaling a strong desire for leadership beyond party lines. As an Independent candidate, Mike Duggan is ready to bring people together, solve problems and put Michigan first.

DETROIT, February 6, 2025 — Michigan voters have spoken and the message is clear: it is time for leadership that breaks free from party lines. The Detroit Regional Chamber commissioned a wide ranging poll. The poll showed 63 percent of voters believe Michigan should elect an independent Governor that is not affiliated with either party. 

The results of the Chamber’s poll is further proof that an Independent candidate for Governor can win in Michigan. 

“This poll confirms what people across the state already know—the two-party system is broken, and doing the same thing over and over again isn’t delivering results,” Mike Duggan, Independent candidate for governor, said. “Michigan is ready for a leader who can unite people to work together and get things done. They’re ready for an Independent governor. I look forward to being that governor for the state of Michigan, the one who leads with action and puts people over politics.” 

Mike Duggan will be in Lansing speaking to the Lansing Economic Club at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center located at 219 S Harrison Rd, East Lansing on Thursday, February 6 at 12:30 p.m. He will be available for a media scrum from 1:45-2 p.m.
